Now hear what the real "pros" have to say...no big lies on this page!

Shocking Views Both Pro and Con on the Cowboys' Music, Thoughts, and Behavior...

Our first "official" review...

came from Derek Sivers, the semi-demi-god of online indie (independent stuff--no rich folks from the record companies involved!) music...

Now it so happens that he has become rather a friend of ours in the music scene online—but no! You fear partiality! You must remember that we weren't friends yet when he wrote it!

He said: "YOU LIKE POP, YOU LIKE ROCK, YOU LIKE COUNTRY, AND YOU WANT TO HEAR SOMETHING TRULY—NEW—FOR A CHANGE... The album is called "Welcome to Hip Hop Country!" That's a great introduction. They somehow pull off a wonderful blend of great pop and rock songwriting with a terrific country influence, and a little sprinkled hiphop flavor just to keep you interested.

I've listened to this CD 4 times this week and it's still fresh. Fun, addicting, unique. You gotta try it if you're a pop fan, a rock fan, a country fan, or none. —Derek Sivers CEO CDBaby —best source on the web for cutting edge new unknowns—the ones you'll hear on the radio any day now...give yourself lots of time to surf!

Then we met a great and influential guy who is dead serious about "homemade music." He's been helping homemade bands get a start for a long time now. He's a friend of ours now, too . . . but he wasn't when he first wrote the review! Honest! He said:

Welcome to Hip Hop Country!!! The Crazed Cowboys really do do country different, leading off this album with a hip hop flair for some exceptionally fine country might throw the tried and true among you off, but even a cursory listen to this album will prove these guys carry a mighty weight with their obvious bent towards fun.

George Lee Jr. has one of those voices that's to die for. Both smoky baritone and smooth crooner (and knowing when each is called for), this album's got it.

Roots guitar chops by Tom Lee and Chris Webb, this album's got it. Cowboy Maxx's awesome percolating drum kit slapping down the skins, this album's got it.

Heartfelt odes, barroom grinds, and more, this album's got it.

And it's got enough power, warmth, and everything else it takes to make a believer out of anyone, whether you're a little bit country or a little bit whatever.

This album... get it.

By then, we were getting around pretty well on the web, and in the Midwest in bars and shacks and sleazy taverns and dives, (where we fit in quite well, I must say; at least -- the Boys do...I'm different, of course...rather a saintly type... well, maybe not), and not to mention the glamorous places we play...

and we started getting lots and lots of reviews, testimonials, free drinks, a few offers of marriage, and some miscellaneous things that I'll just plain not go into here... I'm sure you can imagine, knowing how tasteless my Loser-Cowboys can be at times...

Do you want to read some more reviews or are you smarter than that, and you already know that you must have at least one of these CD's!

We play music different!
